I buy and recommend a lot of electronics each year. I try to get my hands on anything new and different for 2 reasons:
- I know what is possible, that way I can offer it to clients who want to do something different.
- I myself can strip away the hassles of using technology.
With that said, I am willing to review finished hardware and software, and give feedback on Alpha or Beta stage hardware and software. Pre-release product reviews will be held in confidence until product announcements, and I am willing to sign an NDA with tested products. If a review unit is lent or given, to comply with FTC rules, I must mention that. Also, all opinions on the quality of a product in a review, will be based on experience (either mine or a trusted and objective source), and no items will be accepted for review if receiving it necessitates a positive review. In short, just because I get a review unit gratis, does not mean it will get a positive review.
Be warned: I am a very discerning reviewer because I have evaluated hardware and software for fitness for a long time. Unless your product is perfect, it will not receive a 100% positive review. Even an App like Scrivener, which I love, only gets a 95% positive review — but I blame my own ignorance. Even my MacBook Pro, which rocks, could be better (hint: its flaws have to do with audio, audio routing and the menu bar.) So, if you have an innovative or game-changing product you are convinced I will like and want either a bit of publicity or some feedback before it goes into production, contact me to see if I would be interested in reviewing it.
